EDI Training for Developmental Disabilities

The Washington County Developmental Disabilities (DD) Division is seeking a consultant to provide equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) training in support of its division’s Service Equity Plan. DD is committed to fostering an environment that is equitable, diverse, inclusive, and just for all employees, partners, and the communities we serve. We recognize that need to dismantle long-standing systems and policies that have historically created obstacles to the success of people of color, members of ethnic communities, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups. To do so, we want to ensure that our staff is equipped with the knowledge and skill sets to advance EDI in their day-to-day practices. DD is seeking EDI trainers who: Are experienced in leading with racial equity and while also adopting an intersectional lens that addresses genderism, heterosexism, classism, ableism, and other systems of oppression Take an inclusive and collaborative approach when developing content to ensure that those with lived experience are both leading and guiding the work Incorporate trauma-informed care into their teaching and consulting practices Are comfortable with tailoring content to meet the initial needs of different learning cohorts while also continuing to challenge learners as proficiency is gained
