Description

The Contractor shall be responsible for the hauling of all debris to a suitable disposal area. Any clean excess fill or topsoil can be hauled to the County Roads Yard located at 28440 Owens Branch Road. The steel plates are not required with sidewalk construction. Wood and vinyl forms with proper bracing are to be used on radii. All forms and plates are to be coated with an environmentally friendly release agent prior to pouring the concrete. The County shall also accept sawed control joints at 10’ intervals. The Contractor shall be responsible for making all work areas safe for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. This shall include the use of signage, barriers with lights, cones and caution tape. The Contractor shall also be responsible for protecting the concrete from the weather and incidents of vandalism. Concrete is not to be placed on frozen ground. The County shall be responsible for marking out the areas for repairs. This shall include alignment and grades where required. It is the County’s intent to minimize the number of mobilizations by localizing the work areas. A minimum curbing repair will be 10LF, while the longest could be 200LF.
