Design Services for the Northwest Corridor Bus Rapid Transit Service (BRT)

The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is the primary provider of public transit services for the greater Columbus and Central Ohio region, delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation to the public. COTA serves a population of 1.4 million residents across 562 square miles and, in 2025, provided more than 12 million fixed-route passenger trips on 39 lines, along with 300,000 ADA paratransit trips. The agency employs approximately 1,260 individuals, including more than 900 frontline essential personnel. Central Ohio continues to experience significant population and employment growth, with the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) projecting the region to exceed 3 million residents by 2050. Public transit and land use planning are essential to ensuring that this growth occurs sustainably. Transit is intrinsic to smart development patterns, supporting land use decisions and mobility options that foster connected, vibrant communities.
