(1) Vendor needs to provide employee benefits legal counsel service to the government authority located in Oakland, MI. – Provide retirement legal counsel services.– Third–party advice and counsel that will enable the board to make well–informed and well–educated decisions regarding the retirement system and its administration– Attend board meetings, and such other meetings as the board may reasonably request.– Retirement system policies, procedures and forms (e.g., service retirement, disability retirement, disability re–examination, deferred compensation emergency withdrawals, freedom of information requests, service credit requests, deferred retirement option program (drop), professional service provider review, record retention, trustee/fiduciary, ethics, due diligence and other relevant education and training, average final compensation, and workers’ compensation redemption.– Advice regarding domestic relations orders and payment of benefits thereunder.– Prepare and assist with the development of board handbooks, and retirement system member handbooks.(2) The contract period will be for four years. (3) All the questions must be submitted no later than November 6, 2026.
