ACCT-27155 - USA (Salinas, California) - Transient Occupancy Tax and Tourism Improvement District Audit Services - Deadline December 4,2026

(1) Vendor needs to provide transient occupancy tax and tourism improvement district audit services to the government authority located in Salinas, CA.• Review the city’s municipal code chapter 32, article IV, transient occupancy tax, resolutions, ordinances, and procedures for reporting and collecting transient occupancy taxes.• Review the tourism improvement district management district plan.• Verify the mathematical accuracy and timeliness of transient occupancy and tourism improvement district reports filed with the city for fiscal years 2024, 2025, and 2026.• Trace the gross revenues reported on the transient occupancy tax and tourism improvement districts returns prepared by the lodging operator to gross revenue recorded in the respective operator’s accounting records and ascertain that they were in accordance with the city’s ordinance.• During the review period, select a sample of rental transactions, verify tax computations for each transaction, and trace the amounts of rental revenues and transient occupancy tax collected to the lodging operator's books and records.• Review the supporting documentation, on a sample basis, for exemptions claimed on the transient occupancy tax returns and determine the validity of such exemption in accordance with the city’s ordinance.(2) All question must be submitted no later than November 06, 2026.(3) A contract period will be for one year.
