(1) Vendor needs to provide Fiber management solution. – Implement a citywide solution for managing outside plant Fiber and conduit. – The desired solution will include both a management tool with a shared data repository and the associated business processes required to maintain it.– The solution will provide a consistent set of tools and processes to support asset inventory, configuration, and capacity management, field operations, strategic planning, and ongoing network operations.• Inventory all fiber related assets using unique IDs to ensure that every asset is individually trackable.• Trace fiber–level continuity across splice points (A–end to Z–end) so that circuit paths can be verified.• Record splice details with strand–to–strand mapping so that splice configurations are documented accurately.• Model ring, mesh, and point–to–point topologies so that the system reflects actual network designs.• Track circuit assignment at the port/patch level so that patches can be tied to specific circuits and customers. • Capture coordinates for all structures and cabinets so that assets are accurately located on the map. • Generate a map showing where Fiber/conduit is located so that 811/Locate requests can be responded to. • See real–time strand utilization counts per cable segment so that current capacity is known at a glance. • Run what–if models for planned builds so that capacity impact can be assessed before committing resources. • Generate splice sheets (auto or manual) so that splice records are consistently documented. • Generate an aging asset report by install date threshold so that replacements can be planned.
