Electrical Upgrade Project

The Special Collections Department Space Saver Cabinet Electrical Upgrade Project will consist of replacing the original motherboard and installing a new touchscreen keypad to operate the cabinet system. With the existing hardware dating back prior to 2005 and no longer available or supported, there is some concern about maintaining reliable functionality until the upgrades are completed. The project is intended to improve the operation and dependability of the equipment, ensuring continued access to valuable collections. Upon completion, the upgraded system will provide improved functionality, more intuitive controls, and greater long-term reliability for staff managing the specialized storage cabinets.
