CR 164 Widening Project in Select Locations

This project consists of widening the existing cross section of CR164 in two locations from the existing approximate lane width of 8.5 feet to a proposed lane with of 11 feet on both sides of the roadway. In addition to adding 2.5 feet of width to each lane, the contractor shall form a 4ft grassed shoulder at 6%, then tie the remaining front slope of the roadside swale to the existing bottom of the swale if present. There will be six (6) pavement transitions from overlayed portion to existing asphalt which require milling. The transitions should be 100’ in length. The entire roadway will be overlain with 2” Type SP 12.5 asphalt, re-striped with thermoplastic striping and rpms placed per FDOT standard. The roadside shoulders and front slope will be sodded with Bahia Sod and other disturbed areas seeded and mulched as needed. The length of roadway to be modified is 11,420 LF. The westernmost section begins at State Road 97 and extends 3,600 LF eastward. The east section is centered on North Pine Barren Road and extends 3,960 LF is the east and west direction. Existing striping orientations shall be followed with the new striping.
