Federal Government Affairs Consultant

Provide representation for the County on various issues before the Congress of the United States, Executive Branch, and other agencies of the U.S. Government, with the aim of ensuring that legislative interests and congressional actions are consistent with the views and interests of the County. Work will be under the direction of the County Administrative Office. In recent years the County’s federal agenda has included the following items: Secure ongoing public health funding, behavioral health funding, and economic relief for constituents for COVID-19 response and recovery. Federal Health Benefits for Pre-Trial Individuals. Seek adequate distribution of Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing Funding Washington County programs. Finalization of infrastructure investment authorization, focusing on sufficient funding for multi-modal transportation infrastructure development and broadband expansion resources.
