CATS Ultrasonic Testing Services

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide annual ultrasonic rail flaw detection services for the CATS Light Rail system. Through this procurement, CATS intends to partner with an experienced contractor capable of delivering industry-leading ultrasonic rail inspection services that align with applicable American Public Transportation Association (APTA), American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA), and transit industry best practices. The selected contractor will provide all labor, equipment, technology, supervision, and technical expertise necessary to identify internal and surface rail defects before they develop into conditions that could compromise operational safety or infrastructure integrity.
