Description

The City of Lawrence, Kansas invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for the supply, delivery, and professional installation of an emergency shelter at The Pallet Village, 256 Michigan Street . The shelter shall be designed to provide maximum occupant protection during tornadoes and extreme weather events . The proposed shelter must meet the following requirements: Structural Integrity and Life-Safety: Compliance with FEMA P-361 and ICC 500 standards. Tornado Resistance: Engineered to withstand an EF-5 tornado . Occupant Capacity: Minimum capacity of 55 individuals . Accessibility: Full ADA compliance , ensuring accessibility for all users. Proposals should demonstrate the ability to deliver a durable, code-compliant, and fully accessible emergency shelter that meets the highest standards for occupant protection.
