(1) Vendor needs to provide printed circuit board prototyping system to the government authority located in Keesler AFB, MS.– Essential Functional and Performance Characteristics• Milling Spindle Speed: Must be capable of reaching a maximum rotation speed of at least 60,000 RPM to process fine structures down to 100 μm.• Mechanical Resolution: Must offer a minimum resolution of 0.47 μm (0.02 mil) in the X/Y axes and 0.2 μm in the Z axis.• Repeatability: Must maintain a repeatability/precision tolerance of ± 5 μm (± 0.2 mil).• Tool Changing System: Must feature a fully automatic tool change mechanism capable of holding and cycling a minimum of 15 tools simultaneously without operator intervention.• Milling Depth/Width Control: Must include sensor–controlled, automatic milling depth and width adjustment.• Fiducial Recognition: Must incorporate an integrated camera system for automatic optical fiducial recognition, board alignment, and tool change monitoring.– Essential Physical Characteristics• Maximum Layout/Working Area (X/Y/Z): Must be able to process boards up to at least 305 mm x 229 mm x 8 mm (12“ x 9“ x 0.3“).• Maximum Material Size: Must physically accommodate substrates up to 330 mm x 250 mm x 26 mm (13“ x 9.8“ x 1“).• Base Construction: The machine must be built on a heavy granite (or equivalent high–density,vibration–dampening) base to ensure highest geometric accuracy and minimal resonance during 60,000 RPM operations.• Workholding: Must include an integrated vacuum table system for securing flexible and rigid substrates during the milling process.• Dispensing Capability: Must include or be capable of accepting a solder paste dispensing unit.(2) The contract period will be for one year.
