Cross Bar / Al Bar Pine Straw Lease

Pinellas County is looking for a Contractor to harvest pine straw which originates from planted Slash pine on Cross Bar and Al Bar Ranch, for sale on open market. Contractor shall lease specified blocks of timber from the County on a unit price per acre basis for this purpose. The County will make mowing and herbicide application preparations to blocks at suitable stages of growth to prepare for future pine straw harvesting based on the recommendation of the County’s Forestry consultant. Subsequent preparation and maintenance after Pinellas County’s preparation and entry into the lease is the responsibility of the Contractor and Contractor shall have responsibility for timber stand maintenance and preparation after age 6. Contractor will be limited to raking each stand of trees to once per year; no raking in any single stand shall occur twice within a twelve-month period.
