(1) Vendor needs to provide special labor legal services to the government authority located in Kentwood, MI.• Special legal counsel for labor and employment matters on an ongoing service.• Drafting and reviewing collective bargaining agreements, tentative agreements, letters of understanding, memoranda of agreement, and side letters.• Employee discipline, discharge/dismissal, and progressive discipline practices.• Public safety employee rights, veterans’ preference act matters and uniformed ser–vices employment and reemployment rights act, and civil service issues affecting bargaining units.• Drafting and reviewing personnel policies, employee handbooks, separation agreements, and releases.• Preparing for and presenting grievance arbitrations, including witness preparation, exhibits, hearings, and post–hearing briefs.• Researching labor and employment law relevant to specific issues facing the City.• Preparing written legal opinions and recommended courses of action for the mayor’s office, department heads, and human resources staff.(2) All questions must be submitted no later than October 30, 2026.(3) The contract period will be for three years.
