Hauling and Disposal of Grit Entrained Sludge
Atlantic County Utilities Authority, NJ / Wastewater
Description
ACUA is seeking Bids for hauling and disposal of Grit entrained Primary sludge. The services provided must adhere to all Federal, State, County, and Local regulations regarding the hauling and disposal of biosolids materials. During high flow events ACUA experiences an increase in the amount of grit entering the wastewater treatment facility. To protect downstream dewatering equipment the primary sludge that settles during times of increased grit is sequestered in an offline tank. Once the excess grit has subsided the tank storing the grit/primary sludge slurry is allowed to settle and is subsequently decanted. The remaining grit/sludge slurry is removed via Vac Truck and stored in 25 cu. Yd. Vac Can roll-off containers. The containers are owned by ACUA. The contractor will be responsible for picking up the containers containing the slurry, transporting and disposing of the material as well as returning the empty containers to the treatment plant.
