State Affairs Lobbyist

The Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) is seeking a State Affairs Lobbyist to represent and advocate its interests before various State policymaking bodies. The selected firm will collaborate with the OIAA's Executive team and Director of Government Relations to develop an annual legislative strategy, build and maintain relationships with elected officials, and monitor key legislative bills. This includes facilitating meetings with policymakers, providing strategic recommendations, and extending relationships with relevant Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs. Additionally, the firm will play a critical role in preparing and presenting advocacy documents and testimony for legislative hearings, as well as crafting grassroots campaigns to enhance OIAA's legislative efforts. The firm will also be responsible for keeping the OIAA informed about State-level grant and funding opportunities, assisting with grant applications, and securing letters of support from elected officials. Regular reporting on legislative updates and strategic recommendations is expected, along with biannual meetings with OIAA leadership to develop the airport’s legislative program and familiarize with its operations. The firm will support the OIAA during visits to Sacramento, ensuring effective communication and follow-up with legislators. This comprehensive engagement aims to ensure the OIAA’s interests are well-represented and supported within the State’s legislative framework, enhancing its operational and strategic goals.
