Culpeper Bundle

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking Statements of Qualifications for the Culpeper Bundle Design-Build Project from qualified and experienced respondents with design and construction experience of highway facilities. This design build bundle consists of five elements in Culpeper County and the Town of Culpeper, Virginia. These five elements are part of a single procurement and will be awarded as a single contract. The following are brief descriptions of the five elements: (1) Roundabout at US 15 Business/US 522/Rte. 3 – This involves converting the existing signalized intersection at the intersection of US 15 Business (Orange Road)/US 522/Rte. 3 (Germanna Highway) to a single lane roundabout. Additionally, a five (5) foot wide sidewalk is planned to be constructed along the east side of US 15 Business from Standpipe Road to the US 15 Business/US 522/Rte. 3 Roundabout and from the Roundabout along the south side of US 522 to US 29 Business. (2) Roundabout at Rte. 229 & Rte. 621 – This involves converting the existing unsignalized intersection of Rte. 229 (Rixeyville Road) and Rte. 621 (Jeffersonton Road/Colvin Road) to a single lane roundabout. (3) Old Brandy Road Sidewalk Extension – This involves construction of a new five (5) foot wide sidewalk along Old Brandy Road from US 15/29 Business to the existing sidewalk across from the Town of Culpeper Police Department. (4) Roundabout at US 15/29 Business and Rte. 694 – This involves reconstructing the existing signalized intersection of US 15/29 Business (Brandy Road) and Rte. 694 (Ira Hoffman Lane) to a hybrid roundabout. A shared-use path will be constructed along the north side of US 15/29 Business. (5) Roundabout at Rte. 229 and Rte. 694 – This involves converting the existing signalized intersection at Rte. 229 (Rixeyville Road) and Rte. 694 (Ira Hoffman Lane) to a hybrid roundabout. The scope includes all work required for project management, design, and construction of the project.
