Description

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (herein after “District”, “Owner” and “CFTOD”) is a Special Taxing District that serves as a local government entity. The District is seeking a qualified contractor to provide mowing and weed control maintenance of its Rapid Infiltration Basins. The resulting contract shall be for a period of three (3) years with an optional two (2) years renewal. Typical items of work will include, but not be limited to: • Mow all grass areas within Rapid Infiltration Basins (“RIB”) fencing on a weekly basis March through September and bi-monthly from October through February, which is equal to 39 cycles per year. • Mow all non-solar grass areas on a weekly basis March through September and bi-monthly from October through February, which is equal to 39 cycles per year. • All mowing shall utilize a tractor and batwing attachment (not finish mower). • Rake/aerate ALL RIB sand bottoms (soil aeration) twice monthly. Raking/aeration should be at a depth of 6-12 inches. • Prune trees as needed for proper vehicle and equipment access. • Maintain any storm-related tree issues on chain link fence monthly. This includes downed storm-related trees in the service area. • Spray RIBs and (8) eight compliance wells with herbicides (located on each side of the SR 429) for weed control. • Areas to spray includes the tops and bottoms of the HDPE liners, as well as the 12’’ meter sets for all RIBs. Service shall be provided once between October - December, once between January - March, and once per week during the following months: April, May, June, July, August, September, which is equal to 28 applications per year. Herbicides shall consist of two types. Roundup (non-aquatic) shall be used for the meter sets and the top portion of the RIB liner. Rodeo (aquatic) or similar herbicide containing at least 41% by weight of Isopropyl amine salt of glyphosate shall be used at the bottom of the RIB liner, where it has the potential to come in contact with highly treated effluent disposal. At no time shall utility vehicles be driven on the HDPE RIB liners to spray for weeds. Any damages associated to the RIBs that require repairs resulting from weed control services will be at the cost of the Contractor.
