Washington County, Oregon, is requesting letters of intent from qualified individuals to fill the position of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Epidemiologist for Washington County. Through this Letter of Intent, Washington County is seeking an individual who will hold the position of EMS Epidemilogist. The initial contracting period is from November 1, 2024 through October 31, 2025 and may be extended up to 2 years which will run November - October. In order to qualify for this contract responder must: 1) Meet the Tier 2 (Mid-Level epidemiologist) Competencies for Applied Epidemiologists created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE). 2) Have experience working with EMS data and have a strong understanding of the operational terms. 3) Be willing to support the response to emergencies in assigned duty areas to support public and environmental health emergency functions, including but not limited to conducting identification of at-risk populations, advising health officials regarding the event and potential associated health risks, data analysis, risk monitoring, and evaluation of relief efforts. 4) Have strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Additionally, be well-equipped to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. The County strongly prefers knowledge of the EMS system and partners in Washington county or the tri-county area.
