FY 25-011 Locally Grown Food Products

2024-2025 LOCALLY GROWN FOOD PRODUCTS SCOPE OF WORK The Bridgeton Board of Education is seeking to enter into a contract with a distributor(s) to supply fresh, locally produced food products for the Food Service Department. It is the intent of the District to award a single vendor, unless it is determined to be in the best interest of the District to award to multiple vendor vendors. Bridgeton School District Food Service Department is seeking to contract with a distributor of fresh food products to provide consistent and timely delivery and quality, fresh, locally grown products. Total locally grown, specialty product expenditures for the 2023-2024 school year were on track to reach approximately $500,000; and it is anticipated that the needs for the 2024-2025 school year will be comparable. The District plans to utilize Local Food for Schools Grant if available. Vendor Specifications Distributor(s) shall provide expert advice regarding the introduction of new locally grown fruits and vegetables for the Child Nutrition Programs, including the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP). Distributor(s) must make deliveries in a timely manner within the time frame agreed upon. Distributor(s) must be flexible to changes in orders within 24 hours of intended delivery. Evidence and Responsibility -- Distributor(s) must submit, with their proposals, evidence showing the Distributor's dedication and experience in providing locally grown produce to school districts or other entities on a timely basis, evidence of the Distributor's organization available for the performance of the contract, and any other evidence of the Distributor's qualifications to perform the proposed contract. The District may consider such evidence before making its decision awarding the proposed contract. Failure to submit evidence of responsibility to perform the proposed contract may result in the rejection of the proposal. See Attached Product Price Sheet for items requested.
