Åtgärden omfattar att möjliggöra ca 735 m möteslängd i Rekarne genom att förlänga spår 1. Hinderfri längd blir uppskattningsvis 775 m för spår 1 (HIP-HIP) och 750 m för spår 2 (FSK-HIP). Funktionsutredningens avgränsas geografiskt till Svealandsbanan, bandel 450, Rekarne driftplats mellan ca km-tal 113+100 – 114+700.
