(1). The purpose of these assessments is to assess the extent to which an employee or applicant is capable of performing the essential job functions of a position, thereby assuring that the individual will be able to function in a safe and effective manner. The evaluation will be specific to the requirements of the relevant position and should address: • Assurance that the employee or applicant will be safe in performing job tasks • Identification of any gaps between the patient’s functional capacities and the demands of the essential job functions associated with the position. • Recommendations for any reasonable accommodations that may be required. (2). Review of medical documentation, consultation and submission of recommendations regarding employees requests for leaves of absence.
