Expansion of High Density Mobile Storage System

University of Calgary intends to purchase an expansion of the Mizer high density mobile storage system from McLennan & Company, including mobile carriages, stationary carriages, L-Track and deck system, and Z-line shelving system. The system is required by the University’s Faculty of Science to extend existing Mizer high density mobile storage system currently installed in its URC storage facility. The existing Mizer system incorporates proprietary track, carriage, and wheel components designed to operate as an integrated system. Compatibility with the existing installation is required to allow the University to integrate the expansion without modification to the existing system. The proposed expansion will allow new carriages to operate on the existing tracks and existing carriages to be relocated onto the new tracks. Based on the technical assessment completed by the Faculty, McLennan & Company is the sole manufacturer of the Mizer system, and the Mizer high density mobile storage system is the only known system currently capable of meeting the University’s compatibility and interoperability requirements with the existing installation.
