Green Line CMAR Riverside and Innerbelt Vehicle Maintenance Facility Upgrades Riverside Trade Package 2B The purpose of this project is to prepare the Green Line Vehicle Maintenance Facilities for the new Type 10 Light Rail Vehicles currently being procured by the MBTA. Compared to the current fleet of Type 7, 8, and 9 vehicles, the new vehicles will be longer, heavier, and have more equipment on the roof which requires maintenance. In addition, the Type 10 vehicles are expected to require more stringent wheel profile maintenance than the legacy vehicles.
