Gibson Road over Alligator Creek Bridge Replacement Bridge Number 484309

The safety improvements under this contract consist of the replacement of the Gibson Road over Alligator Creek Bridge, existing Bridge Number 484054, located between SR 97 and Crabtree Church Road along Gibson Road in the Molino community of north Escambia County. The existing structurally deficient bridge has been partially closed and carries a single lane of traffic in a residential area. The proposed replacement bridge will be 102’-0 ½” long x 37’-7” wide and will carry two lanes of traffic. The bridge will be a three-span precast concrete structure supported by prestressed concrete piles and the bridge height will be raised above flood levels. Associated roadway improvements on Gibson Road include approximately 463 feet of roadway replacement and widening. The project will require utility coordination, working near an existing water line as part of this contract. Work will be performed under both a State 404 and ERP General Permit. Traffic control will include closing Gibson Road for the duration of the project estimated to be 280 days.
