Real Time Data Messaging Boards - Request for Information

Regional Public Transportation Authority and Valley Metro Rail, Inc., jointly and severally (the “Agency”), is seeking information from interested parties who can provide real time train and bus tracking to our customers by way of data messaging boards. The signs should be able to display the route and time of arrival of the next train or bus. A solution that employs a schematic of the train movement is preferred. Presently, real time software is being procured through the company Swiftly to capture the transportation routes. As such, the software from Swiftly would push data to the messaging boards/ signs through the cloud. Providing this real time data will allow our customers to view a list of arrival times and connecting bus routes, thereby aiding in their destination planning. The Agency is interested in receiving a wide range of information to understand what is available in the market, the extent to which goods, services, and technology are available separately or in an integrated solution, and experience and best practices in the industry. Submittals are welcome even if the proposed goods or services meet only one or more of the described goods and services. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), an Invitation for Bid (IFB), or a promise to issue an RFP or IFB in the future. This request for information does not commit the Agency to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Any and all costs associated with or arising from the RFI process incurred by the Interested Party shall be absorbed by the Interested Party, without reimbursement by the Agency.
