RESTAURANT LEASE SPACE 258 SANTA MONICA PIER
City of Santa Monica / Economic Development
Description
The Santa Monica Pier is a year-round destination attracting millions of visitors per year from all walks of life. Home to a collection of public and private uses: an amusement park, a children’s aquarium, a historic carousel, civic spaces, fishing nooks, outlets for artistic expression, and a variety of unique entertainment, retail, and food options, the Pier has been an icon for both the local community and Southern California for over a century. Over this time, it has provided a broad variety of entertainment and experiences that directly relate to its beach and ocean setting. These activities and services are predominately specific to the Pier’s on‐going “microculture”, history and surrounding community rather than a replication of things at other piers and places. The maintenance of the Pier’s own “personality” is a core value of the Santa Monica community and central to the recruitment and selection of tenants and licensees.
