Digital Library

San Bernardino City Unified School District’s (SBCUSD) Departments of Elementary Instruction, Secondary Education, and Multilingual Programs are looking for a digital library to span grades TK-12. This digital library system will support overall access to appropriately leveled books that cover a TK-12 grade span based on a student’s reading level. The digital library should include selections in English and Spanish that students are able to access at school and at home. The platform should be easy for students to navigate, and there should be a wide variety of choice in the selection of fiction and non-fiction including access to current events and news. This digital library will support reading comprehension, vocabulary development, general knowledge, and overall enjoyment of reading by increasing time in text and should be able to assess students on text read that are aligned to the ELA State Standards. The digital library should also provide a reporting system in which the district, sites, teachers and students are able to track progress. The reporting features provided must be easy to interpret and should be readily accessible to teachers, resource specialists, and other district personnel. The projected numbers of students for the 2020-2021 school year are as follows: 48,556 in grades TK-12.
