Bituminous Surface Treatment Project 2024, 24-00683-00-SC

This work shall consist of constructing a single bituminous surface treatment (A-1) according to Local Roads and Streets. The seal coat aggregate shall be crushed steel slag and CA 16 gradation. The bituminous material shall be an emulsified asphalt according to Article 1032.06 of the Standard Specifications and of a grade identified for use with bituminous surface treatment. All materials shall come from sources currently approved by IDOT. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to provide the Engineer with evidence of materials inspection according to the IDOT Project Procedures Guide. The Contractor shall be responsible for guaranteeing the compatibility of the aggregate with the Bituminous Materials specified. Any aggregate incompatible with the bituminous materials specified shall be replaced by the Contractor at his/her own expense, including any necessary Bituminous Materials.
