The King County Library System, is seeking proposals from qualified Vendors for the purpose of obtaining information and firm proposals for Fine Art Services . The King County Library System (KCLS) is one of the top three largest circulating libraries in the United States. Located in the Puget Sound area, KCLS serves over one million residents at its 50 community libraries and with its Outreach services. Established in 1943, KCLS is a special purpose government that is governed by a Board of Trustees and operates under the constitution and laws of the State of Washington. The King County Library System has many pieces of artwork both inside and outside of its 50 buildings. These pieces range from sculptures to watercolors; some are a permanent part of the building and some are free standing. KCLS desires to preserve all of its current and any future artwork and to that end is seeking an experienced art conservator to catalogue, clean and maintain (including moving and storage) the collection. Often, KCLS artwork must be moved in order to be repaired, maintained or preserved due to construction projects. In such situations, the Vendor will need to remove, store and replace any and all artwork as necessary.
