During outages, the COT McKay Bay Waste-to-Energy Facility uses bagged ice (16# bags) for cleaning of the ash expeller. Each outage uses 7 pallets of ice, and each pallet has 120 bags. This process has been proven throughout the Waste To Energy industry to be a more efficient and cost-effective way to clean out the expeller.
