Description
The proposed project is an improvement project to the existing Naperville riverwalk to convert the currently vacant parcel at 430 S. Washington Street into a new park. The project will include connecting the new low flow walk along the south bank of the West Branch of the DuPage River from the Washington Street Bridge to the Moser Covered Bridge, approximately 200 ft to the southeast as well as providing a connection to the Washington Street sidewalk, approximately 125 ft to the west. The extended walkways will be designed with barrier free accessibility in accordance with ADA standards. Public gathering spaces that are interconnected will be provided along with landscaping, including a mixture of trees and shrubs, to enhance the new park. Lighting and irrigation improvements will be provided throughout the project. New benches and seat walls will be provided in critical areas throughout the project for public seating.
