Vendor needs to provide town attorney services to the government authority located in Blackstone, VA.• Provide counseling on issues as they arise to the Town Council and/or Town Manager and staff.• Prepare and/or review contracts, leases, easements, deeds, and other legal instruments on behalf of the Council.• Draft ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents.• Assist staff in the administration and compliance with public procurement and public financing.• Provide legal counsel to staff on human resource and personnel related matters. Assist with the development of a new and amended Personnel Policy as needed.• Support staff in the interpretation and implementation of zoning and subdivision ordinances and Town Codes.  Assist with the development of new and amended zoning and subdivision ordinances and Town Codes as needed.  • Keep the Council and senior staff apprised of changes to state and federal law which potentially impact the Town of Blackstone’s government.
