Rental of Temporary Dewatering System

Description

West Basin Municipal Water District (West Basin) is inviting Qualified Bidders to submit Quotations for Project Title . The District is undertaking a full refurbishment of their current sludge dewatering system and will require temporary dewatering for approximately 12 months from August 2025. The District has qualified contract operators that will operate the system throughout this period once initial training is provided. The supplier will be expected to deliver, install, commission, and maintain the temporary system. The District intends to lease two centrifuges that will be operated by the District's contract operator at the District's main water recycling plant (Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility, 1935 S. Hughes Way, El Segundo, CA, 90245). The intention is to utilize one centrifuge for most of the required dewatering, with the second centrifuge only being utilized if the primary unit fails or the plant's dewatering needs exceed the capacity of the primary centrifuge. Prior to delivery of the units, the District's General Contractor will install concrete pads, temporary feed and waste pipelines, and temporary power wiring. The exact end location and connections of each of these temporary systems will be designed to fit the selected units. The proposed lease period is 12 months, with initial delivery of the units taking place between 08/20/2025 and 09/20/2025 depending on project schedule. There is a potential for project delay, in either outset or duration. The District encourages Bidders to detail any additional costs that may be incurred if the required delivery date of the units is delayed and/or if the required lease duration extends beyond 12 months. While the District's contract operators hold wastewater treatment operator licenses, initial training of District personnel will be required. In addition, the District encourages Bidders to detail their maintenance/callout requirements and costs.
