I-5 / Dupont to Lakewood Shared Use Path (SUP)

Pierce County (hereafter known as 'the County') requests qualifications from engineer consultant firms capable of preparing the preliminary design for the I-5 / Dupont to Lakewood — Shared Use Path (SUP) project. There is a need for open and accessible non-motorized connectivity along Steilacoom-Dupont Road. The County is seeking to close the connectivity gap through the design and eventual construction of a shared-use path funded by the state, via an agreement between the County and WSDOT (WA Department of Transportation). To increase non-motorized accessibility in the area, both Lakewood and Dupont have extended bike lanes and sidewalks up to their respective incorporated city limits. Steilacoom-Dupont Road is a well-traveled roadway along the westerly border of Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Pierce County. Current roadway uses encompass the following: United States Military Deliveries to and from nearby commercial warehouses Citizens commuting from the Town of Steilacoom, the City of Dupont, and the City of Lakewood
