3D Imaging and Analysis System for Firearm and Toolmark Examination

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Forensic Laboratory Firearms Unit, is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure a 3D imaging and analysis system for firearm and toolmark forensic examinations. The system will be used for the acquisition, visualization, comparison, and database searching of three-dimensional topography of fired cartridge cases, bullets, bullet fragments, and other toolmarks in support of casework, investigative leads, and laboratory validation requirements. The requested solution must include both a high-capacity benchtop scanning system and a portable 3D scanning system, along with associated software, hardware, training, and maintenance/support.
