Description
The City of Homestead is seeking information from qualified firms regarding their experience, capabilities, methodologies, and anticipated approach to conducting a comprehensive Citywide Transit Needs and Mobility Survey. The City anticipates that the study may evaluate existing and future transportation and mobility needs throughout the City, including, but not limited to: The Survey Scope as included in Section 3 of the Resolution No. R2026-06-94: A. the number or percentage of City residents who use public transportation; B. the types of public transportation used by City residents; C. the purposes for which residents use public transportation, including employment, education, medical, commercial, recreational, governmental, or other trip purposes; D. the general destinations, routes, or travel corridors used by residents, E. the geographic areas of the City from which public transportation users originate, including areas west of Krome Avenue, east of U. S. 1, east of Florida' s Turnpike, and such other geographic subareas as may be determined appropriate by the City Manager; F. unmet transit needs, service gaps, frequency concerns, access limitations, or first- mile/ last- mile issues affecting City residents; G. resident interest in alternative or innovative transit systems, circulators, shuttles, microtransit, on -demand service, special event mobility systems, or other mobility options; and H. such other information as may assist the City in developing recommendations for presentation to the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization, Miami-Dade County, or other regional transportation partners as included below: Existing public transit usage and ridership patterns Resident and community transportation needs Transit accessibility and connectivity Travel patterns and trip purposes Transportation challenges experienced by residents Barriers to using public transportation Demand for expanded or modified transit services First-mile/last-mile transportation needs Mobility needs of seniors, persons with disabilities, workers, students, and other populations Public perception and satisfaction with existing transit services Potential gaps in existing transportation services Future transit and mobility priorities Opportunities for improved connectivity between residential areas, employment centers, commercial areas, public facilities, and other destinations Recommendations for future transit and mobility improvements
