Facility Attendant Program Staffing
City of Santa Monica / Community and Cultural Services
Description
The City of Santa Monica has a long history of utilizing community park meeting facilities for a vast array of programming aimed at improving the wellbeing of youth and the community at large. This Request For Proposal (RFP) is for the purposes of finding a community based non-profit or for profit company to operate a facility attendant program to ensure these park facilities are open, clean and prepared for community based programming. The Santa Monica park facilities utilized for City programming and community usage include: Marine Park, Joslyn Park, Reed Park, Douglas Park, Euclid Park, Virginia Avenue Park and Memorial Park. The meeting room facilities in these locations host the Community Recreation Division's Community Classes and Camps Program and the Community Meeting Facilities Rental Program. The operating hours for these facilities are seven days a week from 8am through 10pm and staffing will depend on facility permitting. Facilities are open on some holidays depending on City or community usage. Facility Attendant Provider will be responsible for opening facilities for programming, cleaning meeting rooms, setting up tables and chairs for meetings, breaking down room setups after use and closing facilities. Facility attendants must have or be provided with transportation in order to get to multiple facilities in one shift. Cleaning of facilities will be limited to dusting, cleaning tables and chairs, emptying trash bins, sweeping facility floors and restocking of paper products in the facility restrooms. All cleaning supplies will be provided by the City of Santa Monica. Facility usage will continue to be made available and permitted through the Community Recreation Division. The Community Recreation Division will work with the selected provider to ensure all usage permits are made available to Facility Attendant Provider for daily operations and will be responsible for communicating any programming needs. Selected provider will be responsible for documenting and communicating any facility maintenance or programming issues as they arise. The Community Recreation Division's Principal Supervisor over Facility Permits will be the contact person and will oversee the contract with the selected provider. All questions regarding the RFP and concerning the Facility Programming will be answered by the Principal Supervisor whose contact information is listed in this document. Once selected, the Facility Attendant provider will be under three year contract.
