Well No. 17/19 PFAS Treatment
Township of Monroe, NJ / H2M
Description
The purpose of this project is to implement advanced treatment technologies and reconfigure the Monroe Township Utility Department's existing treatment facilities at Wells 17 and 19 to address the presence of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS). Water produced from these wells has historically been treated and distributed in compliance with all applicable drinking water regulations, including the PFAS Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) established by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). This project reflects the Department's ongoing commitment to protecting public health, meeting evolving regulatory requirements established by agencies such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and ensuring the long-term reliability and sustainability of its water supply system. To achieve these objectives, the Department recognizes the need to construct additional treatment infrastructure capable of producing potable water that meets current and future drinking water standards.
