Seismic Retrofit Grant Management Services

City of Santa Monica / Community Development

Description

In 2017, the City of Santa Monica established a Seismic Retrofit Program to ensure that seismically vulnerable buildings located within the City receive the structural upgrades they require to help protect them against the possibility of structural failure during major earthquakes. Soft Story buildings are the most numerous hazardous building type on the City’s list by a significant amount. The City has received a potentially $6.75M grant from FEMA to help owners of Soft Story buildings fund the retrofitting of qualified buildings and seeks professional consulting services to help manage the grant program throughout its three-year lifecycle.
