Tow Behind Snow Melt System

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is seeking bids from qualified vendors for the procurement of one mobile, diesel-powered snow melter, or an approved equivalent model that meets the specified performance requirements. The unit shall be capable of melting snow directly on-site, eliminating the need for off-site snow hauling and reducing reliance on road salt. The equipment should feature a high-capacity heating system capable of melting up to 18 tons of snow per hour while maintaining a compact design suitable for operation in confined areas, including the upper levels of parking garages. This equipment will support maintenance and winter operations at RIPTA facilities by improving snow removal efficiency and enhancing operational readiness.
