Vendor needs to provide legal services to the government authority located in Toms River, NJ. – Legal counsel, research and/or advisory opinions if needed;– Timely advice and counsel on emergent matters. Counsel is expected to respond, at least verbally to be followed in writing, within a maximum of twenty–four hours when an inquiry is made;– Written legal opinions upon request;– Initiate and defend lawsuits as necessary, and at the discretion of the OWNER;– Timely Review and/or draft all Contracts, Inter–Local and Inter–Agency Agreements;– Prepare all necessary legal documents;– Represent the agency Vocational Technical District and/or the Board of Education in all matters in Federal and State courts as well as administrative tribunals and forums;– Review agency Vocational Technical School District’s resolutions and motions;– Attend meetings of the agency Vocational School District;– Be readily available for meetings with District and the Central Office Administrators;– Advise the agency Vocational Technical School District and the Board of Education of changes in State or Federal law and regulations, as well as court decisions, which will impact the agency Vocational Technical School District;– Work cooperatively with legal counsels of insurance companies, consortiums, or other collective associations with whom the owner may be affiliated;– Represent the owner in all judicial and/or administrative proceedings within the specific area in which the agency or any of its Board Members, Administrators, or agents may be a party or have an interest.– Conduct in–service programs on specified legal issues or appropriate staff members upon request.
