(1) Vendor needs to provide exhibit design, fabrication and installation service. – The services required involve exhibit design, fabrication and installation for the agency.– Services to include research, design, writing, fabrication, preparation, and installation of exhibits that are scientifically rigorous, operationally sustainable, and designed for social discovery.• Design:– Collaborate with agency observatory to define the visual style and elements of exhibits.– Review the interpretive master plan created by the agency exhibits committee and meet with agency team to reaffirm and establish the full scope of the project.– Assist with the identification of appropriate interpretive formats and presentations.– Survey best–in–class astronomy interactives currently in use worldwide and identify those most suitable for licensing, adaptation, or reinterpretation for agency.– Work with the exhibit team to identify and design graphic elements such as illustrations, didactic and/or graphic panels, and signs.– Integrate audio and film components provided by agency into Exhibit design.– Develop lighting specifications using the defined programmable LED lamp system.• Fabrication:– Fabricate and/or procure all Exhibit components including the following: signs, graphics, didactic and/or graphic panels, reader rails, audiovisual components, and housings and/or surrounds.– Finalize installation plans, including floorplan and elevations, lighting plan and installation timetable. – Select, manage, and pay subcontractors as needed, including ordering and retrieving of related materials. • Installation: – Prepare gallery space for installation, including moving electrical outlets, constructing or preparing walls, removing existing walls or replacing flooring as needed.– Coordinate with designated lighting contractor on design and installation of gallery lights.– Ship/deliver the exhibit elements to agency and coordinate receipt of the exhibit elements– Install all exhibits including ensuring assembly and connection of the exhibit elements and verification that all elements function as specified.– Installation will include: signs, graphics, panels, audiovisual components, housings and/or surrounds, wall displays, lighting. (2) All the questions must be submitted no later than September 23, 2026. (3) The contract period will be for two years.
