Description

This Request for Proposal (RFP) has been issued by the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments in its role as the Service Authority for Freeway Emergencies (SBC SAFE). The SBC SAFE requires towing services for the Freeway Service Patrol (FSP). The FSP generally operates on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara County between the Ventura County line to the south, and the Fairview Avenue interchange in the City of Goleta to the north. The contract SBC SAFE has with the current FSP operator will expire on August 31, 2024. Proposals are being solicited from firms interested in providing towing services to SBC SAFE for three years commencing on September 1, 2024, and terminating on August 30, 2027. If awarded a contract to provide towing services, the Contractor shall have 45 days after the contract is executed in which to acquire the required equipment, have it inspected, hire and train drivers and be operable. Any company that cannot meet the 45-day operational requirement shall not be awarded the contract.
