(1) Vendor needs to provide public information officer and strategic communications services.– This role is essential for promoting the city's initiatives, managing its public image, and keeping residents, businesses, and the media informed about important news, events, and emergencies.1. Strategic communications services:– Strategic messaging: Developing key messages and talking points that align with the mayor's and city administration's priorities and initiatives.– Press release writing and distribution: Researching, writing, editing, and distributing press releases to local, regional, and niche media outlets.– Media relations: Proactively pitching positive stories to the media and serving as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries. This includes building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with reporters, editors, and producers.– Crisis and emergency communications: Developing and implementing a robust crisis communication plan to ensure the accurate and rapid dissemination of information during emergencies, such as public safety incidents, severe weather, or major service disruptions.2. Public and event support services:– Press conference coordination: Organizing and managing all logistical aspects of press conferences, including scheduling, venue preparation, media advisories, and on–site management.– Community outreach: Assisting in developing strategies to improve communication and engagement with the diverse Linden community.3. Digital and traditional content services:– Website and social media content: Collaborating with the website manager to ensure the city’s official website features current news and information.
