Description
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (�BOR�) as �Owner�, on behalf of the University of Georgia, �User� is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from firms interested in providing construction management at-risk services for the construction of a project known as "Project No. CP 3571 South Milledge Roundabouts" at the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. Project Background South Milledge Avenue is a two-lane corridor with increasing traffic volumes due to evolving land uses. Posted speed limits are 40 mph in the Track/Turner project area, increasing to 50 mph at the State Botanical Garden (SBG) project area. The roundabouts are intended to improve vehicular safety and operations for turning movements into/out of the venues while preserving through movement on South Milledge, and to improve pedestrian safety (including safe crossing between the Track & Field and Turner complexes to support shared parking during major events). The design will incorporate sidewalks, crosswalks, and pedestrian refuge islands; and include associated improvements such as stormwater management, utility relocations, lighting, signage, and landscaping. Both roundabouts are envisioned to be similar in size and scale to the existing roundabout at South Milledge and Whitehall Road. This South Milledge Avenue Roundabouts project is within the Athens-Clarke County (ACC) roadway right-of-way/easement, with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and ACC having jurisdictional responsibilities for the corridor. The roundabout construction project will be delivered in coordination with GDOT/ACC requirements adjacent to Board of Regents property. Project Description The Project includes a coordinated two-roundabout program along South Milledge Avenue. 1. Track & Field / Turner Family Complex (Track/Turner) roundabout is a new single-lane, 4-leg roundabout on South Milledge Avenue at the aligned primary access drives serving the new UGA Track & Field Complex and the Jack Turner Family Complex (Women�s Soccer, Softball, Strength & Conditioning).
