The Commonwealth of Virginia (“Commonwealth”), Department of General Services, Division of Purchase and Supply, Virginia Distribution Center, (“DGS” or “DPS” or “VDC”) is conducting marketplace research regarding an integrated, automated system solution (“solution”) for distribution center operations that leverages current technology and industry best practices. The Commonwealth is particularly interested in solutions that support the operational needs (including robust inbound/outbound logistics, forecasting, directed putaway, and issue/exception tracking) of a food-grade distribution center handling frozen, refrigerated, and non-refrigerated food, as well as housekeeping and other supplies, including HAZMAT items.
