Tennis Management Professional

The City of Tucson intends to establish a contract(s) for the operation of the tennis centers for the Parks and Recreation Department at three designated locations. The Parks and Recreation Department’s goal is to provide a full-service tennis program to include open play, instructional play, and competitive play for beginner to tournament level players. The City of Tucson intends to award this contract by tennis center (Reffkin, Fort Lowell, and Himmel) and each tennis center proposal will be evaluated separately. Offerors do not need to submit a proposal for all tennis centers to be considered for award. However, it must be clearly stated within the proposal which tennis center(s) are being offered. Operating strategies include: • Maximize use of the physical assets and maximize financial opportunities to achieve full cost recovery of operations, maintenance, and improvements. • Offer support services including pro shop functions, concessions, corporate partnerships, and sponsorships to complement and enhance the player experience and capitalize on revenue potential. • Improve the visibility and public recognition of the Parks and Recreation Department owned asset and benefit of such asset through the offering of a full-service tennis program. • Offer a youth outreach tennis program conducted during out-of-school times and targeting demographically at-risk and underprivileged youth. • Utilize the Reffkin Tennis Center to attract tournaments, both local and national, maintaining Tucson’s positive reputation as a tennis destination and contributing to the local economy. • Highlight and promote the sport of tennis for individual and family enjoyment and promote its ability to be a life sport.
