Zero Waste Stations
University of Alberta
Description
Facility Services intends to award a single source contract to Busch Systems International Inc. for Evolve Series Zero Waste Stations across five Health Sciences buildings (Katz, HMRC, MSB, Li Ka Shing, and CSB). Sole-sourcing is required to maintain campus-wide operational standardization and support the University’s 90% waste diversion goal, as well as to utilize Busch Systems' proprietary hardware, custom artwork, and sign frames. Additionally, a direct award accommodates a 10-week manufacturing lead time, ensuring allocated Energy and Climate Action grant funding is fully expended prior to fiscal year-end without delaying planned 2026 rollouts.
