(1) Vendor needs to provide super intelligence and machine learning innovation service. • Include interpretability of SI/ML results, and provide validation and verification, with an emphasis on process fidelity, as feasible• Include benchmarking approaches of proposed SI/ML methods in comparison with conventional approaches, in alignment with common modeling community practices, and examine any advantages from the SI/ML methods.• Quantify and characterize how SI/ML methods represent or reduce predictive uncertainty at M2D timescales.• Focus on SI/ML tools that provide information for weather and climate hazard risk decision making for the U.S. and draw from data, products, and services.• Provide interpretations of SI/ML–based results in terms of established processes and phenomena in relevant domain sciences to support their robustness and reliability.
